Investment projects 2016-2018
Dear investors, future partners,
Before you is a catalogue of investments in which we would like to present you the project of building ports on the island of Krk.
Krk Island is the most developed part of the Kvarner region as far as tourism is concerned, making up 1/3 of the total tourist traffic of the region. In the 2015 tourist season it saw more than 4 million guests arrive, which is a 10% increase on 2014.
The proximity and traffic connections with the markets of Italy, Austria, and Germany, excellent infrastructure and environmental sustainability, make it a favourite destination of boaters who are looking for “one more berth” every season.
When we add the possibility of vacation and arrivals throughout the year, an excellent gastronomic and wine offer, and diverse and rich contents and programs that the island has to offer, we are sure that Krk Island is the right place for investment in the boating facilities offered in the projects.
ACCESSIBILITY, TRAFFIC CONNECTIONS, SAFETY
Rijeka Airport, which is open throughout the year, is located on the island, and commercial flights connect the island and the whole Kvarner region with Europe from 1 April to 30 October. Introducing year-round flights is currently underway. Let us add this year’s launch of an emergency helicopter service, in addition to the highly successful sea rescue service which has been developed for years, and all the prerequisites expected by a modern boater have been achieved.
About us
The ports and the maritime domain of the island of Krk are managed by the County Port Authority Krk (ŽLUK), the largest of eight port authorities in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, managing the 23 ports of Krk Island. Managing ports includes activities related to the use, maintenance, and construction of ports, and investing in ports open for public traffic.
Because every successful job is done by people, our port guards are professional, educated, and at the users’ disposal throughout the year.
During the investment period of 2016-2018 ŽLUK is planning 4 significant investment projects which include investments into the reconstruction and expansion of the ports’ capacities with an approximate value of 200 million Croatian kuna.
